Some samples

I think, its very clear to all of us, what we mean when we saw using two or three columns of text, and variations we can make to them.

In case it isn't very clear, these pics will make it really very clear for you.

You are free to even copy the variations used here.

Reference---
The screen shots have been taken from the "HARVARD BUSINESS REVIEW" monthly magazine.

Use one page for every article that has been stated as average, and two pages for every article that has been called a good article in the sequence of articles.

Final Work

Hello everyone. You must have received a mail with all the attachments listed below.

List of Attachments--
1. gaurav2.psd -- this is the formal layout which is being used for article section of the magazine, this is most important section of the magazine.
2. article sequence.txt -- this file has a list of sequence of articles. You have to place the articles in this layout.
3. Rest are doc files which contain the articles.

We now have to enter data into layouts.
Read these points very clearly.
Important points--
1) Use Calibri or Trebuchet MS fonts only for writing the articles, wherever other fonts can be used for headings or main points. (smooth or normal)
2) Point size is 12.
3) The paragraph text must be of BLACK COLOR.
4) The text has to be entered in two or three columns. As per your wish.
5) Some articles contain images, include those images after resizing them. If the design seems dull without images, feel free to add your own images, strictly related to that article.

Make the most of the 3 free days. (31st,1st n 2nd)

You are requested to use variations to make the formal page look happening.
Keep sending me .jpg files of your work. Do keep your work reusable just like a programming code. Try using groups if you can, although there is no compulsion.

And if you have made something, which you haven't already submitted, submit it as soon as possible.

Make no changes to the layout. We have to use a standard layout for one category atleast.
In case you don't know how to change the word - "CATEGORY" to some other text, forget about it, i'll do it for you.

Don't forget to set the visibility of the group- "copy of category" to false.

All the best!!!

Common mistakes n errors

I have received layout from 6 students yet.
Some corrections which i wud like to suggest is-

1) the magazine is an e-magazine, so we've to see to it, that it isn't very bulky.
So, we'll have to restrict its size to about 4-10mb.

so, layouts can't be heavy. Because we still have to add articles n matter on it, which would make it even heavier.

2) most of us are not understanding the need of measurements, but its ok. This tym i'll be handling the measurements, so u need not worry about the measurements now.

Those who haven't submitted their layouts yet, plz make sure u submit them by tomorrow.
